Underground water can carry uranium into fractures. For this reason Uranium curve can be increased in NGT Natural Gammray Spectoroscopy log..

 

 

 

If the pad of density tool contacts to fracture it reads low density. Correction curve shows high correction.Neutron porosity increases in fractures.

Resistivity decreases in fractures.Especially MSFL tools read values close to mud resistivities.

We can see cycle skipping in fractured zones. This effect is anormal high (Dt) readings.If you can compare sound travel times to the various receiver, you can easily see the difference between curves. Sonic tool can not see vertical fractures..

In fractures caliper will read high. If mud cake formed in the borehole, fractures can not be identified in fractures.

 

FRACTURES IN POROSITY LOGS:

Sonic wave propagation through rocks is unaffected by the presence of
secondary porosity, i.e. fracture and vuggy porosity.
